The 2011
Variety Night! Fundraising concerts will be performed
in March 2011 (dates TBA). These concerts are
a departure from our usual classical fare offered by Bow Valley Chorus
and are offered for their sheer entertainment value.
Executive director of Variety Night! Karen Minish,
assembles a
cast drawn from the talent pool of Bow Valley Chorus and directs them in
an abridged/choreographed/semi-staged version of popular musicals. To
date, Bow Valley Chorus members have performed a total of seven wildly
popular mini-musicals. Other invited Bow Valley talent rounds out the
concert program.
These concerts provide additional performing opportunities for
interested choir members and help to offset production costs for our
fall/spring productions.
Please
note: The
mini-musical requires a huge time commitment from choir members as we
rehearse on Sunday afternoons for approximately three hours beginning
late January until performance time and if needed, extra rehearsals may
be called.
